The LED Discussion

Well there has been quite a lot of discussion on the forum regarding LEDs, so I thought it might be a nice idea to have a proper thread dedicated to MSR members thoughts/ opinions/ experiences etc regarding this seemingly controversial topic.

Is there someone who can really give us a good breakdown on LEDs, how they work, whats needed, costing etc... and for me whats important is performance.

And who thinks they rubbish?

Actual use, light intensity calculation often use easier to surveying and mapping data unit or change to use. For the LED display this kind of active illuminant generally USES CD/square meters as luminous intensity unit, and cooperate with observation Angle for the auxiliary parameter, its equivalent in screen surface the illumination unit lux; The numerical and screen body effective display area multiplication, get the whole screen body in the best Angle of the luminous intensity, assuming that screen body in which every pixel of the luminous intensity in the corresponding space in constant, the numerical can be think is also the whole screen body of the flux. General outdoor LED display must reach 4000 CD/square meters brightness can only in the sun have quite ideal display effect. Common indoor LED, maximum brightness in the 700 ~ 2000 CD/square metre.
