A True Champion
Dirk Nowitski, 7 foot forward for the Dallas Mavericks, is a true champion. For those of you who have followed his team's journey through this year's NBA playoffs, you know that it was an arduous journey. They fought hard and played smart through all the series they played in.
Quoting Coach Rick Carlisle: "Persistence is our game,Roger vivier outlet. We're an old-school team, roger vivier online. Our game is near the ground. We have to play with brains and guts."
What I admire the most about Dirk Nowitski is his genuine humbleness. After winning the NBA Finals Championship, he told a reporter that he doesn't feel comfortable when the focus is only on him. He said that he actually felt ashamed for all the attention. That is truly an admirable quality.
Who would have thought that Dallas would sweep the Los Angeles Lakers, but they did. J. J. Barea drove the Lakers crazy. He was like a little mouse running through a forest. In this case, it was the Laker"s bigs.
In the Oklahoma City series, Dirk really showed the world that he has the heart of a true champion. In game 4 of that series, roger vivier shoes, the Thunder was leading by 15 points with 5 minutes left in the game. If the Thunder won that game, the series would be tied at 2-2.
The Mavs played tough defense, and Dirk did his magic scoring to tie the game in regulation. Dallas went on to win in overtime, 112-105,roger vivier sale, and eventually, roger vivier sale, the series.
Another thing that's so amazing about Dirk is his free throwing skills. He shot an incredible 97,roger vivier sandals.7 percent in the Heat series.
Game 4 of the Mavs-Heat series stands out in my mind, roger vivier shoes, next to Game 6, of course, where the Mavs won the NBA Championship. What stood out about Game 4 is that Dirk played with a 101 degree fever, and the Mavs went on to win that game. That showed fans the kind of player Dirk is. He plays with a lot of heart, guts, and determination (and humbleness). Fans were holding up signs in the next game saying things like "Noquitski" and Dirk Fever".
Besides Nowitski and Jason Terry,Roger vivier, another player who actually made it to the finals twice, roger vivier sale, and didn't win a championship is Jason Kidd. He was with the New Jersey Nets at the time. At age 38, Kidd was really running out of time. In game 6 his teammates told him they wanted to win the championship for him. And of course, they did.
After Game 6 ended and Dallas had won the NBA Championship, roger vivier pumps, Dirk left the court before his team started celebrating their victory. He needed some private time. He didn't want the world to see him crying. After a few moments, he regained his composure and rejoined his teammates on center court. That's the sign of a True Champion. No gloating. Just Dirk being his humble self.
