Estragon, Bologna, ITALY Last 10th of February I have been with about 200 / 300 people to see a great concert at Estragon Club in Bologna – Italy. GREAT WHITE plays a superb show. They Started to play at 22.30 PM for about 90 minutes of music. This was my first GREAT WHITE show seen since I have started to listen their music in 1987 and I am very happy finally to get the chance to see them live on stage. Among the audience I have seen several old rockers from other cities such Reggio Emilia and Modena (about 20 to 50 miles from Bologna) among young kids of about 20 years old….Anyway everybody seems to be happy for a very strong and warm performance…and Great White enjoy a kindly evening with us… Before “Desert Moon” a lot of smoke has been produced with dry ice on stage…Jack starts to joke saying to a roadie to stop the smoke…He wasn’t almost unable to sing well…After the first 2 songs (what an incredibile start) Jack introduces the band and thanks everybody to come…In my opinion the best moment of the show…As I am also a big Led Zeppelin fan I have been very happy to hear a cover of “Achilles Last Stand” in the middle of “On Your Knees”…Jack introduces “House Of Broken Love” as one the most beautiful blues song ever recorded (I am completely agree with him)…Jack get a pause during a nice blues song of Mark Kendall solo album (nice voice and great job on lead guitar…a real gem)…A new song about what needs this world (using Jack words introducing “How Far Is Heaven ?”)…“Rolling Stoned” from “Can’t Get There >From Here” album follows…Then again a small pause for Jack on vocals and really a strong Robin Trower cover (sorry I didn’t recognized the title track…anybody can help me ?) with Steve McNabb on vocals…A really strong bass riff and a powerful drum work… Old stuff take no prisoners again…”Face The Day” and “Call It Rock And Roll”…A beautiful song of Michael Lardie on piano and vocals too (maybe the song is “Paradise”…very smooth and warm…some girls shouts BRAVO (GOOD) at the end his work…Michael was happy (he smiles a lot)…Before the encores “Back To The Rhythm” and “Rock Me” (at the beginning of the fisrt note of Bass I shout really loud…I believe everybody listen me…I really love their most beautiful song in my personal opinion… Before the encores Jack thanks again Italian audience..He tells his wife is from Sicily and he knows Italian attitudes…During the encores he shakes several hands and some member of the audience touches him…So am I…He was completely wet…What a show and I’ll hope they will play again here in Italy in the next future… Set List: - Desert Moon - Old Rose Motel - On Your Knees / Achilles Last Stand (Led Zeppelin cover) - House Of Broken Love - Kill That Red Rooster (Mark Kendall “solo” song – Mark Kendall on vocals) - How Far Is Heaven ? - Rolling Stoned - ……………………(Robin Trower cover…I didn’t get the title track…Steve McNabb on vocals) - Face The Day - Call It Rock And Roll - ……………………(Michael Lardie “solo” song on piano…I didn’t get the title track…Michael Lardie on vocals) - Back To The Rhythm - Rock Me Encores: - Can’t Shake it - Once Bitten Twice Shy Photos submitted by Paolo
